monlam café
branding
THE BRIEF
This branding project was created for a real client in Paris — Monlam, a passionate individual who was finally opening the coffee shop he had dreamed of for years. We met through mutual contacts, and after hearing his incredible life journey, I was genuinely moved. We quickly agreed to collaborate and bring his vision to life through design.
From the very beginning, this was more than just a client job. It was about translating a deeply personal story into a visual identity, and building something that felt authentic to Monlam’s values, culture, and energy. The café needed a brand that felt warm, grounded, and welcoming — a true reflection of Monlam himself.
The process came with its fair share of challenges, especially when it came to bridging different perspectives around what branding means and how it works. But thanks to open communication, mutual respect, and Monlam’s kind-hearted nature, we navigated those moments and created something we were both proud of. It was a real learning curve in client collaboration, and one that left a lasting impact.
Seeing the final identity applied to a physical space — on an actual storefront in Paris — was a milestone moment for me. It marked the first time my design work took shape in the real world, not just on screens or mockups. And doing so on a project so rooted in human connection made it all the more meaningful.
A huge thank you to Monlam, for this opportunity, it was a real pleasure to bring this vision to life together. Thank you and congratulations to Liam and Valentin for the amazing architecture work. And finally, thank you to Mathilde for the pictures!
And if ever you're in Paris, visiting the Sacré-Cœur, don't hesitate to go and say hi!
